A HUGE thank you to our incredible community who c A HUGE thank you to our incredible community who came out to the first planting day at our new home 💚 Over the weekend, we put the first trees in the ground at the site of Science Saving Rainforests - with the very first planted by our Co-Founder and conceiver of our genetic rescue program, Dr Tony Parkes… 95 and he’s still planting trees and pushing boundaries 👏 We planted riparian habitat and a grove of Bangalow Palm, fig and Blue Quandong in a modest planting of 500 trees with 45 people in attendance. This is only the beginning of our planting days with big plans to come! Join us for a Riparian Habitat Planting Day on Apr Join us for a Riparian Habitat Planting Day on April 5, 2025 🌱🌾🦆🌳 We’re excited to announce the date for our first community planting day at our new home in McLeans Ridges. The planting will be a mixed planting of rainforest and riparian species around the dam on the property. It will be on predominantly flat or gently sloping ground, so not too physically challenging. When: 9:30am, Sat, April 5, 2025 Where: 96 Humpty Back Road, McLeans Ridges What to bring: Water bottle, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, covered shoes, wet weather gear RSVPs ESSENTIAL, SPACES LIMITED: Please RSVP to info@bigscrubrainforest.org by Thurs, April 3. Carbon credit plantings have started to happen for Carbon credit plantings have started to happen for rainforest in the Northern Rivers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This project will see 60,000 trees planted to restore 26 hectares of Big Scrub rainforest.
